Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information The Decision Athlete (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website, membership, and related services (the “Service”). We are the controller of the personal data described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect:
- Account information you provide when you register, such as your name and email address.
- Payment information needed to process your subscription. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. We may receive limited billing details such as your subscription status and the last four digits of your card.
- Usage and technical information, such as which lessons you have completed, and standard technical data (for example, device and browser information and approximate location derived from your IP address) generated when you use the Service.
- Communications and community content you send to us or post in the community.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Service and your membership;
- process payments, renewals, and cancellations;
- communicate with you about your account, updates, and support;
- improve and develop the Service; and
- keep the Service secure and comply with our legal obligations.
3. Legal bases
Where data-protection law applies, we process your information on the basis of performing our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (such as securing and improving the Service), your consent (where we ask for it, for example certain communications), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Service providers
We share information with trusted providers who process it on our behalf, including Supabase (authentication and database), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), Slack (community), and YouTube (video hosting). Each processes data under its own terms and safeguards. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the Service, such as keeping you signed in. Where we use any non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent first. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
6. Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, and afterwards only as long as necessary to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to limit access to it.
8. International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. You can exercise these rights by contacting us using the details below. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
10. Children
The Service is intended for adults (18 and over) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you and will update the date below.
12. Contact
For any privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us via the members’ community or the email address associated with your account.
